Mining

Mining is under increasing environmental scrutiny as mining sites are faced with the challenge of minimizing the impact of large runoff streams and metals-laden wastewater on the local environment.

 

Wastewater from extractive operations (bauxite, coal, copper, gold, silver, diamonds, iron, precious metals, lead, limestone, magnetite, nickel, phosphate, oil shale, rock salt, tin, uranium, molybdenum) has to be properly managed in order to prevent any water or soil pollution, acid, alkaline or heavy metals leaching to the environment.

Nano Gas can enhance the performance of several processes which involve some of the following:

 

  • Adjusting the pH of the wastewater so that the metals will form insoluble precipitates.

  • Reducing the need for coagulants into mixing tanks to facilitate the collision of the metal particles to form larger particles or flocs.

  • Reduction of flocculants to bind the particles into larger clumps which will then be allowed to settle in sedimentation tanks for collection/removal.

Highly reactive O2 delivered as Nano Gas effectively removes many metals, metalloids, and other chemical elements susceptible to redox processes. without the use of chemicals.
